Disaster circumstances
An An-26-100 passenger plane (ST-ARL flight number ) of the private Sudanese airline Alfa Airlines made a charter flight, transporting a government delegation from Khartoum International Airport to the town of Talodi ( South Kordofan ), approximately 595 km from Khartoum [ 1] .
The plane took off from Khartoum at about 6:02 in the morning, and at about 8:00, when landing in a dust storm near Talodi, it could not land the first time and went to the second round, during which it crashed into a mountain and exploded [2 ] [1] .
Victims
Killed all 32 people on board: 26 passengers and 6 crew members [3] .
The passengers of the aircraft were members of the government delegation traveling to participate in the celebration of Uraza Bairam in the state of Southern Kordofan :
- Ghazi Al-Saddiq - Minister for Religious and Waqf Affairs of the Republic of Sudan ( Federal Minister of Guidance and Endowments ) [3] [5] ;
- Majub Abdul-Rahim Tutu ( Mahjoub Abdul-Rahim Tutu ) - State Minister for Youth and Sports ( State Minister at the Ministry of Youth and Sports ) [3] [5] ;
- Eissa Daifalla - State Minister at the Ministry of Tourism, Antiquities and Wildlife [3] [5] ;
- Mekki Ali Balayel (Mekki Ali Balayel ) - the head of the Justice Party ( Leader of the Justice Party ) [3] [6] ;
- other representatives of the political and power circles of Sudan and the film crew of Sudanese television [6] .
The crew included: a citizen of Russia - Gennady Semenov ( commander ) [6] [5] ; Tajik citizen - Hoshim Akram ( navigator ) [7] ; Armenian citizen - Armen Virabyan ( flight engineer ) [8] . The co-pilot was a citizen of Sudan.

Disaster Investigation
The crash is being investigated by the Sudan Civil Aviation Authority .
On August 24, 2012, the aircraft’s flight recorders were discovered and recovered from the crash site [1] .
