Tamale (dish)

Tamale ( English tamale [tə'mɑːlɪ], Spanish. Tamal ) is a Mesoamerican dish; steamed dough from nixtamalized corn flour, wrapped in corn (or banana) leaves. Before use, the leaves are removed. Tamale may contain stuffing with minced meat, cheeses, fruits, or vegetables, often with chili peppers.
