Dolní Grad ( Croatian Donji grad ) is one of 17 districts of Zagreb , the capital of Croatia . It is a traditional part of the city and urban district in the self-governing organization of the city of Zagreb. The area is named as opposed to the Upper City ( Horv. Gornji grad - Medveščak ). The area is the most important meeting place, shops, most institutions and museums in Zagreb.

The urban area was founded by the statute of the city of Zagreb on December 14, 1999.
The district occupies the center of Zagreb, from the Upper City to the railway, west to the streets of the Republic of Austria, and east to Heinselova Street. In the center of the area is Banach Jelacic Square, where the border from the Upper Town passes the south side of the square, [1] a railway station and parks.
