Founded in the middle of the XVIII century, for the early detection of hostile forces, following from the south. Hence the name of the farm.

Located on the Dark River. Distance to the regional center : 21 km. Distance to district center : 33 km. Through the village passes the federal highway R216 Astrakhan - Stavropol .
