Sand, Emely

Emeli Sandé was born March 10, 1987 in the Scottish city of Alford . Mulatto by birth: her father Joel was born in Zambia , her mother Diana - in England. At the age of 11, when Sanda was in elementary school , she wrote her first song for the school talent contest, called "Tomorrow Starts Again." “This was the first time I thought that I could become a songwriter. 2008–2010: Career Start

Sister Sande videotaped her playing the piano and singing one of her favorite songs, Nasty Little Lady. They sent a video to the BBC to Trevor Nelson, where the city music contest was held. Sanda won the competition, and she was offered a recording contract, but the studio management, having learned that the girl came to them as a result of the competition, refused the deal. Her parents sent her song CD to BBC Radio 1 . Soon, Sande signed with Virgin Records and EMI Records . In early 2011, she signed another contract with EMI Records. Sande debuted as a singer in 2009, after which she wrote for Chipmunk the first debut single, “Diamond Rings,” which finished sixth in the UK Singles Chart . In 2010, Sand, together with rapper Wiley, released the single “Never Be Your Woman”, which is also in the Top 10 and takes eighth position in the UK Singles Chart. Sandé announced her name change to Emeli due to the growing popularity of another English singer, Adele .

2011–2013: International Breakthrough and Our Version Of Events

On August 14, 2011, the first official single “Heaven” was released from her debut album. The song received many positive reviews. Sande later confirmed that the song “Daddy” would be the second official single. On December 15, 2011, Sande won the 2012 Brit Awards in the Critics' Choice nomination. 2013: Second Studio Album

In January 2012, Sanda confirmed that she was engaged. Her chosen one is the marine biologist Adam Gureguin. The couple got married on September 15, 2012 in the homeland of Adam, in Montenegro .
