KNM ER 1813
KNM ER 1813 - skull of Homo habilis , found in Koobi-Fora ( Kenya ) by the expedition of Kamoy Kimeu in 1973. The estimated age of the find is 1.9 million years, the volume of the cranium is approximately 510 cm³.
The skull is relatively small for Homo habilis, despite the fact that it is a fully grown individual of the morphology typical of H. habilis. The age of the individual at the time of death can be judged by the third molars with signs of wear.
The abbreviation KNM means "Kenya National Museums" (National Museum of Kenya), ER - East Rudolf (East of Lake Rudolph , now Lake Turkana ).
