Biological description
Fruit bodies are open (corticoid) or uplifting (polyporoid), in some species with a well-developed hat , soft, annual. The surface of the fruiting bodies can be smooth or pubescent, painted in whitish or brownish tones. The overwhelming majority of species have a monophysical system, but representatives with the dimitic system are also known, hyphae usually with buckles. Often there are cystids .
The hymenophore is smooth, prickly, folded, or poorly developed tubular. Spores from elliptical to cylindrical, white, non-amyloid, collected 2-4 on narrow basidia .
