Proculus came from the Paflagon city of Pompeiopolis and was the son of the 173 consul Gnei Claudius Severus and Annia Galeria Aurelius Faustina, daughter of Emperor Marcus Aurelius . In 200, Prokul served as an ordinary consul along with Guy Audifiy Victorin . Perhaps his daughter was the wife of Emperor Heliogabal Annius Faustin.
