Gareth James McCleary ( born Garath James McCleary ; May 15, 1987 , Oxford , England ) is a Jamaican footballer , midfielder , Reading Club and Jamaica .

Club career
Early career
McCleary began his career at his Oxford hometown club, Oxford City, in 2004, while playing for the Oxford United youth team. Despite the fact that Gareth was constantly attracted to games, he never signed a contract, although the club paid him wages [2] . After a year at City , McCleery moved to Slough Town, where he played 24 matches and scored 6 goals. In January 2007, he transferred to Bromley . For the new club, Gareth spent 40 games and scored 11 goals, after which the Nottingham Forest coach Colin Calderwood invited the midfielder to “test himself” on City Ground . January 21, 2008 McCleery signed a contract with the " foresters " [3] .
Nottingham Forest
In the new club, McCleery made his debut in a home match against Carlisle United on March 3, 2008, replacing him at the end of the match [4] . On April 1, 2008, Gareth scored his first goal for the “foresters”, in a compensated time, hitting the goal of “ Carlisle ” [5] . Four days later, McCleery came out at the base in a duel against Cheltenham Town , and as a result of the match he was recognized as his best player.
At the beginning of the 2011/12 season, McCleery was injured, which left him out of the game until the end of 2011. After the restoration, Gareth shockingly spent the end of the season and scored 9 goals, 6 of which he sent to his opponents in March [6] . In the match against Leeds United , on March 20, 2012, McCleery scored 4 goals [7] . At the end of March, the midfielder received the title of Football Player of the Month [8] , and also became the Best Nottingham Forest player in the season [9] .
Reading
On May 16, 2012, McCleery rejected the offer to extend the contract by the foresters and signed a 3-year agreement with Reading . On August 18, Gareth made his Premier League debut for a new club in a match against Stoke City . On August 22, another rookie of the team Pavel Pogrebnyak scored from a canopy against Chelsea , from the canopy of McCleery [10] . On October 27 of the same year, in a duel against Fulham , Gareth scored his first goal for a new club and helped him achieve a draw, 3-3 [11] .
International Career
February 7, 2013 in the match of the qualifying tournament of the World Cup 2014 against the national team of Mexico, Gareth made his debut for the national team of Jamaica [12] .
In the summer of 2015, McCleery was included in the application for the national team to participate in the America's Cup in Chile . In the tournament, he played in matches against Uruguay [13] , Paraguay [14] and Argentina [15] .
In the same year, Gareth took part in the CONCACAF Gold Cup . In the tournament, he played in matches against the teams of Haiti [16] , Canada [17] , El Salvador [18] , Costa Rica [19] , Mexico [20] and the USA [21] . In fights against Salvadorians and Costa Ricans, McCleery scored a goal.
In the summer of 2016, Gareth took part in the America's Cup in the USA . In the tournament, he played in matches against the national teams of Mexico [22] , Venezuela [23] and Uruguay [24] .
