Biography
Alexey Vlaznev was born in 1910 in the village of Lipovka, Petrovsky district, Saratov province (now the Maloserdobinsky district of the Penza region ) in a peasant family. Received primary education. In 1941 he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. From the same year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Participated in the liberation of the Ukrainian SSR . By September 1943, the Red Army guard Aleksey Vlaznev was the shooter of a separate motorized rifle battalion of the 9th Guards Mechanized Brigade of the 3rd Guards Mechanized Corps of the 47th Army of the Voronezh Front . Distinguished during the battle for the Dnieper [1] .
On the night of September 29-30, 1943, Vlaznev was the first in his battalion to cross the Dnieper near the village of Selishche, Kanevsky District, Cherkasy Oblast, and took an active part in seizing a bridgehead on its western shore. Vlaznev detachment captured the commanding heights and repulsed 12 enemy counterattacks. In the subsequent battles Vlaznev was seriously wounded and was sent to the hospital. He died from injuries on January 14, 1944, and was buried in a mass grave at the Myronositskiy cemetery in the town of Lebedin, Sumy region [1] .
Awards
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 3, 1944, the Red Army soldier Alexey Vlaznev was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union for “exemplary performance of the combat command of the command in the struggle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown” by the Guard. He was also awarded the Order of Lenin and the Red Banner , as well as a medal for the defense of Stalingrad [1] .

- The name of the Hero is a school in the village Lipovka .
- In the village of Malaya Serdoba, a monument is opened.
