Geographical position
The village is located in a remote mountainous area, stands on the Bolshaya Ussurka River , below the confluence of the Columbe River (right tributary) and Lure (left tributary).
The distance by road to the regional center of Novopokrovka (via Roshchino ) is about 120 km, to Dalnerechensk about 196 km.
To the southeast from the village of Melnichnoe is the highway to the village. Plastun of Terney district , about 130 km to the Russian coast of the Sea of Japan . The road runs along the southern border of the Sikhote-Alin Reserve .
