Biography
He was born on September 27 ( October 10 ), 1908 in Sebezh (now the Pskov region ). In 1930 he graduated from the College of Performing Arts in Leningrad . In 1931-1937, the director of the MKT A. Ya. Tairova , in 1938-1942 he was the artistic director of the S. M. Zvilling Theater Theater , in 1946-1951, the Kuybyshevsky Theater named after M. Gorky (he was dismissed during the campaign against cosmopolitanism ) ; [2] in 1953-1956 and 1967-1969, the chief director of the Voronezh ATD named after A. V. Koltsov , in 1956-1962 - the Gorky ADT named after M. Gorky , and in 1965-1967 - the LT named after Lenin Komsomol . In 1971 he headed the Novokuznetsk Drama Theater . He staged performances in other cities. In the 1980s he emigrated to the United States . He died on April 15, 1989 .
