Video clip
The music video was shot in May 2001 by Irish director End McCullion [2] . Angelina Jolie , the leading woman in the movie, is not involved in it, since the video is not connected with the plot of the latter.
In the video, Trent Reznor plays the role of a robber. Together with the girl-accomplice, he steals boxes of the national mint, suggesting that they have a large amount of cash or value. In a hurry, the robbers leave (at the same time on different machines). Then the thieves try to open the boxes, but they contain highly toxic corrosive dyes that begin to spray on Reznor and his assistant. To warn each other about dangerous boxes, the robbers drive towards, but their cars collide head-on. After the accident, Reznor manages to get out of the wrecked car. He finds an accomplice girl lying on the pavement unconscious. At the beginning of the video clip there is a fragment of the news release broadcast , in which the presenter talks about the appearance of toxic dyes and their effects on humans in case of skin contact.
The broadcast of the clip started on August 13, 2001 on the MTV Europe music channel [2] There the video gained some popularity, although in numerous interviews Trent Reznor said that he was disappointed with the work of Anda McCallion [3] .
