History
Clothing has been known by this name since the 1640s [2] by the name of the traditional character of the Italian farcical theater Pantaleone , who wore tight pants .
At the end of the XVIII century, the trousers became longer, which led to their wearing on the straps (suspenders), which become part of the European costume. Subsequently, this type of clothing also began to be used by women as a kind of underwear [3] .
Application
Knickers are used mainly for additional warming of the middle part of the human body . Corrective trousers , which are worn for medical and aesthetic purposes, also spread.
