Vault competitions as part of the gymnastics tournament at the 2012 Summer Olympics took place on August 5, 2012 at the Greenwich North Arena . The result was determined as the arithmetic average of the points for two jumps.
Izbasha won her second Olympic gold in her career - in 2008 in Beijing she became the strongest in floor exercises. After the first jump, McKayla Maroni was confidently in the lead, in the second attempt she performed the most difficult jump of all the finalists, but she was mistaken and lost in total to Izbash.

Facts
- When Oksana Chusovitina performed at her first 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, more than three years remained before the birth of her friend in the German national team.
- At the presentation of medals, photographers captured MacKayla Maroni , who received silver, her lips disappointedly disappointed. This photo, dubbed “McKayla is not impressed”, soon became a popular Internet meme [2] . Later, this photo on the podium was recognized as the most viral photograph of 2012 according to Yahoo [3] .

- ↑ After the first jump, Black landed face in the mat and got 0 points due to the fact that the legs did not touch the mat first (although the repetition does not clearly confirm this). Black went on a second attempt, but, having run up, did not jump, realizing that the injury did not allow this. Black didn’t try to complete the jump.
