Biography
Joining the Jesuit Order in 1605, he taught theology and mathematics at La Flèche College , starting in 1613 (before him this post, created in 1608, was held by people without special education).
One of his students was the future philosopher Rene Descartes , strongly attached to his teacher. The Rev. Pierre Bourdin, author of the book of the art of creating fortifications, became his successor in 1626 , and later, in 1636, Georges Fournier , a hydrograph.
He was appointed préfet des études in Nevers , Amiens and Alencon ; ended his career at Rennes College.
