Botanical Description
An annual herbaceous plant. Flowers in small baskets, collected in panicle inflorescence. Marginal flowers in the basket are few, with an almost reduced perianth, female; median - tubular-bell-shaped, greenish-white, bisexual. Leaves are opposite, heart-ovate, serrated-serrated at the edges, rough from short bristly hairs above, grayish from the bottom of the thick silky-felt pubescence, with petioles. Plant height from 30 to 200 centimeters. The stem is straight, ribbed. Cyclagen blooms in July-October, pollen can cause allergic reactions. [3] Due to the indicated ability to cause allergic reactions, non-specialists often call Ambrosia , although it is very similar to it.
The Importance of Cyclagenes as a Weed
Like ragweed, cyclagen is rapidly growing and depleting the soil in cultivated crops, causing inhibition of seeded plants. To destroy cyclagen, it is enough to cut the plant under the root, but it is better to uproot the plant with the root.
