Biography
Boris Vinokurov was born in 1915 in the city of Menzelinsk (now Tatarstan ) into a peasant family.
He graduated from elementary school, after which he worked on the collective farm .
In 1937, Vinokurov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. He participated in the Polish campaign of the Red Army and the Soviet-Finnish war, during which he distinguished himself. In the rank of Red Army soldier, Vinokurov commanded a tank of the 398th separate tank battalion of the 50th rifle division of the 13th Army of the North-Western Front [1] .
February 11, 1940 during the assault on the dominant height of the tank Vinokurov was hit. Despite the enemy fire, Vinokourov got out of the tank and, taking a machine gun in his hands, went on the attack, dragging the infantrymen with him. In that battle he died [1] .
Awards
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 7, 1940, Red Army man Boris Vinokurov was posthumously awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union for "exemplary performance of combat tasks of command on the front of the struggle against the Finnish White Guard and for showing courage and heroism". He was also awarded the Order of Lenin [1] .
