Biography
Born in Yekaterinburg in the family of mining engineer Alexei Petrovich Strolman in 1854 .
After graduating from the Mining Institute in St. Petersburg in 1877, he worked on the coal and salt mines of the Lugansk Mountain District. In 1884-1888 he was the superintendent of the Zlatoust weapons factory , the mechanic of the Zlatoust factory, where he made a significant contribution to the mechanization of work processes.
In 1888-1891, he was the manager of the Verkhneturinsky plant , the assistant to the mining director of the Goroblagodatsky factories, the manager of the Kushvinsky plant. Since 1891, the assistant to the mountain chief, and since 1897 the mountain chief of the Perm cannon factories . Under his leadership, technical re-equipment of production was carried out: three open-hearth furnaces , a power station, two foundries were built; shaped carriage of gun carriages was introduced, smelting of various grades of nickel and chromium steel was mastered, production of new gun systems was launched; Thanks to the use of new equipment, production doubled.
In 1901 he was promoted to full state councilor , and in 1908 he retired.
He lived in St. Petersburg, since 1917 - in Perm, where he taught at the industrial technical school. He died in 1938 [1] , was buried in Perm.
