Biography
In 1919, together with Tonne, Gars and Meert, he founded the movement “Trade Union Youth” ( fr. La Jeunesse Syndicaliste ). In 1925, Cardine received the blessing of Pius XI and on April 18, 1925, the First Congress of the Union of Christian Working Youth ( eng. Young Christian Workers ) was held. In July 1925, Cardinal Mercier and the Belgian episcopate also supported the creation of the union.
