Geography

Located on the left bank of the Buzuluk River, west of the district center of Novoanninsky .

Title

According to one version, it is named in honor of the Empress Anna Ioannovna . [2]

History

In 1698, the village of Chernovskaya was described, located one verst from the current village of Staroanninskaya, on an island covered with a dense forest. It got its name from a tributary of Buzluk - the Black River.

Soon, 122 Cossacks lived in the village of Chernovskaya in 27 huts and 14 dugouts, and due to frequent floods, the village was relocated to the right bank of Buzuluk.

In 1848, the settlement was moved to the left bank and this year is considered the year the village was founded. [3] . In 1859, 552 men and 573 women lived in the village of Anninskaya [4] .

According to the 1897 census , 1,078 men and 1,195 women lived in the village. Most of the population was illiterate: 402 of them were literate men and 78 were literate women [5] .

According to the alphabetical list of the populated areas of the Donskoy Army Region in 1915, the land allotment of the village was 6,735 dessiatins , 970 men and 990 women lived here, there were village and farm administrations, a church, a parish school, a 2-year school, a loan and savings partnership [6] .
