The Archbishopric of Lubumbashi ( Latin: Archidioecesis Lubumbashiensis ) is the archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church with its center in Lubumbashi , the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo . The Lubumbashi Metropolitanate includes the dioceses of Kalemie-Kirungu , Fireplaces , Kilva-Kasengi , Kolwezi , Kongolo , Manono and Sakania-Kipushi . The Cathedral of the Lubumbashi Archdiocese is the Cathedral of St. Peter.

History
On August 5, 1910, the Holy See established the apostolic prefecture of Lubumbashi, separating it from the apostolic vicar of Leopoldville (now - the archdiocese of Kinshasa ).
On March 22, 1932, the apostolic prefecture of Lubumbashi was transformed into an apostolic vicariate .
On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate of Lubumbashi was transformed into the archdiocese by the bull Cum parvulum of Pope John XXIII .
