Ward State Historic Park ( Ward Charcoal Ovens State Historic Park ) or Ward Charcol Owens - Nevada State Park , White Pine County, Nevada , USA . Located 30 km south of the city of Ely . The main attraction is the charcoal burning stoves ( English Ward Charcoal Ovens ), well preserved by the 21st century.

Ward's charcoal kilns are closely associated with the abandoned Ward settlement, 4 km north, named for Thomas Ward, the discoverer of these places.
Ward was a large settlement, there were two smelters with twenty crushes, saloons, a brewery, a school and a post office. By 1877, the population was about 1,500 people. But the fire in 1883, which destroyed one third of the city, including the school and the municipality, led the city to decline. In 1887, one of the last, the post office was closed [1] .
It is not known for certain who built the six stoves that remained as a memory of Ward. With a height of about 9.1 m (30 ft) and a diameter of 8 m (27 ft), wall thicknesses of 0.61 m, Ward’s furnaces operated from 1876 to 1879, when the town was experiencing an upsurge in silver mining and needed to supply cheap coal to produce .
After Ward’s furnaces were no longer used for burning wood, they became an ambush for stage-robbers, as well as simply shelter for travelers.
In 1952, the territories around the Ward Stoves became a state park, and in 1971 they were included in the US National Register of Historic Places [2] .
