The dialect is used mainly in the Friborg districts of Sense and See , as well as in the city of Friborg . The total number of dialect speakers is approximately 30,000. The name “Friborg”, which is used in relation to the dialect, is erroneous from the dialectological point of view, since the dialect occupies only part of the cribon Friborg. Partially in the canton, Berndoich is common. In 2000, Christian Schmutz and Walter Haas published a dialect dictionary, Senslerdeutsch-Hochdeutsches Wörterbuch.
