Biography
Alexey Vinogradov was born on April 30 , 1919 in the village of Brusna (now - Odoyevsky district of the Tula region ) in a peasant family. In childhood, he moved to Odoev with his parents. In 1934, he graduated from the 7th grade of Odoevskaya secondary school, in 1938 - the Tula Industrial and Mechanical College with a degree in cold metal processing and worked as a technologist at the Tula Arms Plant . At the same time he studied at the Tula flying club, which he graduated in 1939 . In the same year he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army by the Tula City Military Commissariat . He served in naval aviation, took part in the Soviet-Finnish war. He was sent to study at the military aviation school of pilots, but in 1941 Vinogradov was transferred to the Pushkin Tank School, which he graduated in 1942 [1] .
Since May 10, 1944 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War . He took part in battles on the 1st Belorussian Front , with the rank of lieutenant guard, he commanded a tank platoon of the 60th Guards Tank Brigade of the 8th Guards Tank Corps of the 2nd Tank Army . He distinguished himself during the liberation of the Lublin Voivodeship of Poland and Lublin . On July 22, 1944, a platoon of Vinogradov destroyed about 20 enemy firing points. On July 23, the Vinogradov tank was the first in its unit to burst into Lublin and took an active part in street battles. When his tank was hit and caught fire, Vinogradov did not leave him, continuing to fight until he died. He was buried in Lublin [1] .
Rewards
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 26, 1944 for “courage and heroism shown in the Lublin-Brest operation and the liberation of Lublin” of the guard, Lieutenant Alexey Vinogradov was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Order of Lenin .
Memory
In honor of Vinogradov named street and school number 1 in the city of Odoev [1] .
