Russian-Ecuadorian relations are bilateral diplomatic relations between Ecuador and Russia . Diplomatic relations between the USSR and the Republic of Ecuador were established on June 16, 1945. The exchange of embassies took place on May 25, 1970. In December 1991, the Ecuadorian government recognized the Russian Federation as a successor state to the USSR. [one]

Bilateral Trading
Bilateral trade - $ 1.2 billion (2012) [2] . Ecuador supplies bananas, flowers (mainly cut roses), coffee, cocoa and seafood to the Russian Federation [3] . Russian exports to Ecuador - nitrogen fertilizers, ammonium nitrate and metal rolling [3] . Ecuadorian exports significantly exceed the cost of delivering to Ecuador from Russia.
