Biu [2] ( born Biu Plateau ) is a plateau in northeastern Nigeria , in the state of Borno . Volcanic field of frozen lava flows, consisting of basalts , craters , slag cones . Volcanic activity has not been recorded in historical time, the last eruptions occurred from 1.4 to 5 million years ago [3] . Xenoliths and peridotites are also present in the rocks of erupted lavas.
