Maksimenko, Alina Aleksandrovna

Alina Aleksandrovna Maksimenko ( Ukrainian Alina Oleksandrіvna Maksimenko ; July 10, 1991, Zaporozhye , USSR ) - Ukrainian athlete, performing in group and personal championships in rhythmic gymnastics competitions . Member of the national team of Ukraine, trained at the Deryugins school . Participant in two summer Olympics - in Beijing ( 2008 ) and London ( 2012 ), winner of the World and European Championships.

Sports career

As a junior, Alina Maksimenko performed at the 2006 European Championships . Together with Valeria Shurkhal and Daria Kushnerova, she took fourth place in the team all-around, and sixth in the finals of the exercise with a rope [1] .

In 2008, Maksimenko as a member of the group participated in the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Girls took the final eighth place. Since 2009, Alina began to perform in the individual competition. The gymnast finished her first world performance in Mie in 16th place in the all-around final, and in team competitions she became fourth (along with Anna Bessonova and Anna Rizatdinova). In 2010, at the World Championships in Moscow, she took fifth place in the individual championship. Maksimenko was also one of two non-Russian gymnasts who went to all the finals (the second - Alia Garaeva ).

She won 3 gold and 1 silver medal at the 2011 World Cup in Kiev. In May 2011, Alina became the two-time bronze medalist of the European Championship in team championship (with Anna Rizatdinova ) and in the exercises with clubs, in person. At the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, she won a silver medal in the final with a hoop (28,100) and a bronze medal with clubs. Maksimenko as a member of the Ukrainian team (together with Anna Rizatdinova, Victoria Mazur and Victoria Shinkarenko ) won the bronze medal at the world championships in Montpellier .

In 2012, at the Deryugina Cup, the gymnast won silver in the all-around, losing to Russian gymnast Daria Dmitrieva . At the Olympics in London, Alina Maksimenko became the sixth in the all-around final.

At the World Championships in 2013 in Kiev, Alina took third place in the finals of the mace exercise. In the all-around final, she became the seventh. At the end of the 2013 season, Alina Maksimenko completed her sports career. The last competition for her was Serie A club tournaments in Italy, where she played for the Virtus Gallarate club [2] . For a short time she worked as a trainer at the Deryugins school.

Family

Alina’s younger sister, Vladislav, is also a gymnast. She trains with Natalia Sanina [3] . Father Alexander used to play football.

Rewards

  • Order of Princess Olga of the III degree ( July 25, 2013 ) - for achieving high sports results at the XXVII World Summer Universiade in Kazan, shown dedication and the will to win, increasing the international authority of Ukraine [4]
