Kira Konovalova was born on May 8, 1961 in Baku . Comes from a family of hereditary Baku oil workers. Her great-grandfathers were European experts (Jews and Germans) who participated in the development of the Caspian field by the Nobel brothers at the invitation of Zeynalabdin Tagiyev . One of them, Johann (Ivan Aleksandrovich) Madervaks, worked together with his father Richard Sorge, industrial engineer Gustav Wilhelm Sorge ; later he went to work in the Caspian shipping company, and in 1938 he was repressed and executed [1] .

In 1990, with her second husband and son, she repatriated to Israel. In the author’s own words, she made her first attempts at writing since she was eight.

The first published book by Keren Pevzner was a two-volume self-study book “Parallel Ulpan ”, written two years from the filing of student Daniel Kluger, who studied at Keren’s courses, and published in 1997 by Mira publishing house. The self-instruction manual successfully occupied the niche of self-taught language written in an accessible language for Russian-speaking repatriates (and later for independent language learning in the diaspora, in particular in Russia and Canada) and has survived since then at least 6 reprints.

The writer’s first work of art was the detective story Confessions of a Killer, written and published in 1999 in the journal Seeker.
