Trinity Cemetery (now part of the Old Believers Square ) is an unexploited cemetery in the city of Kurgan .

History
It was founded on October 11, 1881 as a necropolis of the Trinity Parish [1] . At the beginning of the XX century, demolished. In its place was built a residential district "Temp" - one of the most disadvantaged in the city, as well as garages. During excavation, builders came across human bones.
Old Believer Square
The northwestern part of the cemetery was given for burial to the Old Believers . The cemetery is marked on the plans of the city for 1900, 1903, 1906 and a number of subsequent years. According to eyewitnesses, the cemetery was fenced from the "bustle of the world" with a blank fence. There were no monuments here. Neat grass-covered mounds. For a long time, the guardian of the cemetery was Voevodin Evstafy Leontyevich (1872-1945). His house stood at the crossroads of modern Proletarskaya and Kolya Myagotina streets [2] .
By order of the mayor of Kurgan on September 11, 2000 N 4728-r, the place name Old Believer Square was established (to the right of the viaduct in the area of the former Old Believer cemetery, square near the city market) [3] .
Borders of the square: Stantsionnaya, Proletarskaya , Savelievsky crossing streets, the building at ul. Station, 74a. A memorial sign with the inscription “Peace be upon the dust of past generations” is set in the square.
