The bell of the mountaineer of the kidney ( Persicaria maculosa )
Thorn ( lat. Ochrea ) - in botany plant structure formed by stipules that grow together around the stem like a case. The presence of such a structure is a characteristic feature of the Buckwheat family ( Latin Polygonaceae ).
This term was first used by Karl Ludwig Wilden in his work Grundriß der Kräuterkunde zu vorlesungen, entworfen von D. Carl Ludwig Willdenow (Berlin, 1792) [1] .
With reference to the Palm family ( lat. Palmaceae ), this term refers to the expansion of the leaf sheath for the location of the stem .
