Biography
From 1904 he studied at the Imperial Technical School (now MSTU named after E. Bauman), graduated in 1913. He was part of the aeronautics circle , organized by N. E. Zhukovsky . Participant of the Second All-Russian Aeronautical Congress.
Participated in World War I. From 1919 he worked at TsAGI . Head of the experimental aerodynamic department (1928), a member of the board of the institute. Entered the first Scientific Council of TsAGI (1935). Member of the creation of the "new TsAGI" ( Zhukovsky ).
He created the fundamentals of the impulse theory of the rowing screw (together with B. N. Yuryev ).
Author of numerous works on the dynamic stability of the aircraft, the regulation of gas turbines, jet engines, working processes in the blade machines.
