Description
Appearance
The size of sexually mature specimens usually does not exceed 1–1.3 m, but sometimes they reach 2 m. The maximum is 2.6 meters [1] .
Distribution and habitat
The range of the smooth-faced caiman Schneider is located within the basins of the Orinoco and Amazon rivers from Venezuela , Guyana , Suriname and Guiana , in the north and to southern Brazil in the south.
Reproduction
In clutch from 10 to 17 eggs.
Schneider's Smooth Cayman and Man
View in the zoos of the USA . It is protected in national parks of Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname and Guiana. Due to successful environmental activities and effective protection of Schneider's smooth-faced caimans, they were removed from the IUCN Red List , but international trade is still regulated by the list of Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade.
