Biography
From 1729 - chamber page, from 1731 - gof-junker. In 1732 he was released into the Astrakhan infantry regiment as a second lieutenant; since 1735 - lieutenant. During the Turkish war he was in the Crimean campaign (1736), with the capture of Ochakov (1737). Since April 1740 - captain of the Chernigov Infantry Regiment; a year later - the prime minister in the Kiev garrison.
Since January 10, 1742 - the executor of the Governing Senate ; since March 10, 1746 - Chief Prosecutor of the Senate.
On December 10, 1755, Lieutenant General N. G. Zherebtsov was appointed Moscow Vice-Governor ; in the period from March 6, 1762 to 1764 - the Moscow governor [1] .
Since 1760 - Privy Councilor.

His brother, Alexei Grigoryevich Zherebtsov , was a real secret adviser.
