Biography
In 1977 he graduated with honors from the University of Naples Frederick II with a degree in Economics . Since 2000 - an ordinary professor of modern history at the same university.
Since 1995 - Associate Professor (professore associato) at the Center for the Study of the Russian World at the Higher School of Social Sciences in Paris . Since 2007 - President of the Italian Society for the Study of Modern History.
Since 2008 - an employee of the Harvard Institute of Ukrainian Studies. Since 2009 - an employee of the Davis Center for the Study of Russia at Harvard University .
