Biography
Noto was born in the city of Kanazawa , pref. Ishikawa (Japan). A graduate of the Hokuriku Gakuin school (北 陸 学院). This school belongs to the Christian (Protestant) church, and during her education Noto sang in the church choir. She was also a member of a theater group (in high school) and ikebana group (in high school). Then she still wanted to become a nurse , but the performance she saw in the third grade of high school impressed her so much that she decided to move to Tokyo and study theater art after graduation.
In Tokyo, Noto entered the Seiyu Yoyogi Institute (代 々 木 ア ニ メ ー シ ョ ン 学院 学院), where she studied for one year, after which she entered the OSAWA (大с事務所) seiyu firm, where she still works. While studying at the institute, she worked part-time in a Shinto shrine as a miko . Later, becoming a seiyuu, she played a series of roles where her characters are miko (for example, Himegami from To aru majutsu no Index , Tomoe from Queen's Blade ).
Her debut in the anime took place in 2000. Since then, she has played over a hundred roles, being one of the most popular and sought-after seiyu. Due to the specifics of her voice, she often has to play clean, naive, shy characters. However, her repertoire is not limited to this, and in practice she has played various roles. Although less common, it also happens to play male roles - boys and youths. Also, “non-human” roles, that is, the roles of animals, etc.
In addition to voicing roles in the anime, Noto, like many other sayu, voices roles in computer games, Drama CD , and speaks on the radio. She had a chance to visit as a screenwriter, in particular, she was the author of the script for the 21st episode of the anime Toka Gettan .
As a singer, Noto does not perform on her own behalf, but recorded a large number of songs on behalf of her characters ( Character songs ). In 2009, her album, “Mamiko Noto Character Song Collection”, was released, which included selected Character songs for the period since 2003, as well as two songs written by Noto herself, written specifically for this album. The album also includes small “mini-dramas,” which are imaginary dialogues of the characters of the actress that could have happened if they had met.
She writes songs also in collaboration with other seiyuu, in particular, while working on the anime Sgt. Frog was organized by the seiyu unit MORE PEACH SUMMER SNOW, and while working on the anime Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu , it was organized by the seyu unit N's, with the participation of leading actors in the corresponding anime.
