Biography
Born March 16, 1922 in the city of Roslavl , Smolensk region . After graduation, from 1941 he worked as a turner at the Sverdlovsk Plant No. 46.
In 1948, after graduating from the Ural Polytechnic Institute , he was appointed engineer at Combine No. 813. Until 1960, he held the positions of design engineer, shift manager, deputy head of the technological department of separation production, deputy production head, production manager, head of the experimental-commissioning bureau and engineer - 1st Deputy Director of the Ural Electrochemical Plant (Combine number 813), who was engaged in uranium enrichment.
Since 1960, Savchuk was appointed director of the Ural Electrochemical Plant. During the leadership of Savchuk, the plant was awarded the Commemorative Banner of the CPSU Central Committee , the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions . In 1971, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the plant was awarded the Order of the October Revolution.
In 1981, for services to the state in strengthening the country's defense capability, Andrei Iosifovich Savchuk was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Hammer gold medal.
In 1987, Savchuk retired and lived in the town of Novouralsk. He died on February 11, 2004 .
