Mahmoud of Mecca ( Arabic. محمود مكي ) - Egyptian politician, vice-president of Egypt ( August 12 - December 22, 2012 ). Before being appointed Vice President, he was a judge.

Biography
Mecca graduated from police college and worked in the police. He then received a bachelor's degree. Mecca then became Vice President of the Constitutional Court. His brother Ahmed Mecca, Minister of Justice in the Egyptian Cabinet of Ministers. Since the mid-eighties, Mecca, as well as a large number of judges in Egypt, have been advocating for the independence of the judiciary. Brother Ahmed Mecca, the Minister of Justice in the Egyptian Kabbet ministers and Mahmoud Mecca, demanded the separation of executive power into the courts and the transfer of judicial inspection to the Supreme Council of the Judiciary. In 2006, he led demonstrations for the independence of the judiciary from the executive. Mecca also demanded that Article 76 of the Egyptian Constitution be amended to have 2 or more candidates in the presidential election. In May 2012, he was offered to run for president of Egypt from the Muslim Brotherhood, but he refused. August 12, 2012 appointed as Vice-President of Egypt. December 22, 2012 in connection with the abolition of the post of Vice-President of Egypt resigned
