iMelody is a monophonic music file format created for mobile devices by Sony Ericsson .

MIME : “text / x-iMelody” or “audio / iMelody”

Extension : ".imy"

An example of a ringtone in the IMelody format (this is a silent ringtone that just makes the phone vibrate):
