Charis Alexio was born in Thebes in 1950, but as a child she moved to Athens with her family. In 1972, a duet with Yorgos Dalaras "Μικρά Ασία" marked the beginning of her musical career. Immediately, Haris Aleksio began working with the best Greek composers, including Manos Loizos , Lefteris Papadopoulos , Mikis Theodorakis , Christos Nikolopoulos .

In 1975, the singer recorded her first disc, which included twelve already popular songs, which is why the album was named “12 Λαϊκά Τραγούδια” ( Russian. 12 popular songs ). The song “Δημητρούλα” is becoming one of the most popular in Greece at the time. Haris Alexio continued to collaborate with Yorgosos Dalaros , new duets appeared with Dimitra Galani , Antonis Kaloyannis , Vasilis Papakonstantinos , Yannis Parios , Anna Vissi . She performed songs to the music of Manos Loizos , Manolis Rasulis , Yannis Parios , Anthony Vardis . In 1987, Manos Khatzidakis invited Haris Alexia to give a solo concert with the album "Απρόβλεπτα τραγούδια", while he himself staged the concert.

In 1990, the second album was recorded in collaboration with Thanos Micrucicos under the title “Κρατάει χρόνια αυτή from κολώνια”. In October of the same year, Haris Aleksiu gave a concert "З δική μας νύχτα" at the Stadium of Peace and Friendship, which has since been considered one of the most ambitious in Greece for the entire decade. In 1997, Haris Aleksio began active social activities. On June 18, she represented Greece in the Committee on Youth, Education and Mass Media in the European Parliament with a report on the theme “Promotion of music in Europe.
