Dimitra Papadea ( Greek Δήμητρα Παπαδέα , born August 21, 1991 [1] , Athens , Greece ) is a Greek singer performing under the pseudonym Demy . The representative of Greece at the Eurovision 2017 , which was held in Kiev .

Biography
Demy was born in 1991 . Her childhood passed in Athens , where she lives today. Her love of music showed up very early. Already at the age of five, the girl began to learn to play the piano , so far she is taking vocal lessons. Demy is a law student in Athens. In 2011, Demy made a very successful debut with the song “Μια Ζωγραφιά” (Ο Κόσμος Μας), which she performed in a duet with Midenistis (MIDENISTIS). The song became a mega-hit. In 2011, she also recorded the song “Μόνο Μπροστά”. In 2012, Demy introduced a new version of Μόνο Μπροστά in collaboration with OGE. The new single Demy “Πόσες Χιλιάδες Καλοκαίρια” (music by Dimitris Kontopoulos and lyrics by Nikos Moraitis ) was released in June 2012 and was a huge success, the song conquered the whole world [2] . As of the end of July 2012, she ranks first for the 5th consecutive week in the Billboard Greek Digital Songs chart [3] . The song was also a success on Greek radio, becoming No. 1 on the official Greek broadcast schedule [2] . In March 2012, in collaboration with Playmen , a single was released entitled "Fallin", which also leads in TOP 40 - the official charts of the radio station " Europe Plus ". [4] During the summer season of 2012, Demy appears on stage at the Thalassa nightclub with Sakis Rouvas . July 28, 2012 Demy took part in the fifth Europa Plus Live 2012 marathon, which was held in Moscow in Luzhniki, with the song “Fallin”, which the singer performs with the duet Playmen [5] .
Demi's first full-length studio album, No. 1, was released December 19, 2012 according to her record label Panic Records. The album includes ten tracks, including two songs in English. The album also includes her hit in Greece with the Greek rapper Midenistis Μια ζωγραφια. The album reached number 1 on the Greek chart and became platinum.
In May 2013, Demi released a summer song in English called “The Sun”, along with producer Alex Leon and Greek rapper Epsilon. The song became a big hit in Greece.
In March 2014, Demi and Playmen released a song called "Nothing Better".
Rewards
- On June 20, 2012 , the ninth consecutive MAD Video Music Awards ( MAD TV Channel Award) was held. Demy is the absolute winner, having received 3 awards: The best video clip - hip-hop / Urban, The best duet / collaboration, Best newcomer [6] .
- Demy received the title Woman of the Year 2011 ( Greek “Γυναίκες της Χρονιάς 2011” ) in the New category ( Greek “ΠΡΩΤΟΕΜΦΑΝΙΖΟΜΕΝΗ” ) according to Life & Style magazine [7] .
- In 2013, at the ceremony MAD Video Music Awards she won the nomination for Best Pop Video with the song Poses Xiliades Kalokairia.
- In 2013, at the MTV Europe Music Awards ceremony she won the best Greek artist in the nomination, but could not win the best European artist in the nomination.
- In 2014, at the MAD Video Music Awards ceremony with The Sun, she won the Best Song of the Year and Best Video of the Year nominations.
