Ludwig Albert Ganghofer ( German: Ludwig Albert Ganghofer ; July 7, 1855 , Kaufbeuren - July 24, 1920 , Tegernsee ) - German writer, singer of his small homeland of Bavaria. Prominent representative of a regional novel in German literature . Ganghofer’s creative heritage includes poems, plays, short stories and novels. Many of the Ganghofer novels were filmed in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century.

World War I
Despite the well-known mutual dislike of the Bavarians and Prussians, during the First World War, the Ganghofer took a pan-Germanist and chauvinistic position. Having been in 1915-1917. on various fronts of the Great Battle of the Peoples, Ganghofer published a book of reporting Reise zur deutschen Front, as well as poetry collections Eiserne Zither and Neue Kriegslieder glorifying William II.
