History
The parish of the Paraskeva Friday Church has existed at least since the end of the 16th century . According to the Scribe Books of 1628, the Besedina and Loktionov’s classrooms owned part of the land near Pogoreltsevo, and the other part of the land belonged to the church itself. The church was wooden, rebuilt many times [1] . The last wooden church in the village of Pogoreltsevo, consisting of one throne, was built in 1842.
By the beginning of the 20th century, the parish of the church had grown so much that it required the construction of a new large church. The arrival of the Pyatnitskaya church at that time was the largest in Dmitrievsky district . People came here to pray from neighboring villages - Mokryzha , Snecky , Voropaev . At the temple there was a parish school [2] .
In 1903, construction began on the now existing stone church. They built in the image of the Church of the Archangel Michael the village of Glebovo, Fatezh Uyezd , the architect of which was Nikolai Mikhailovich Grushevsky. The construction was carried out exclusively on public money. In 1914, the temple was finally completed and consecrated on the tenth Friday after Easter. However, he did not act long. The temple was closed in September 1929 and given over to a warehouse for grain and fertilizers. The last priest was arrested and sent to the camp. Agafya Loktionova, a nun of the Pyatnitsky church, was repressed in the case of the “church liberation group” [3] . In 1945, the temple was allowed to reopen, but by then it had already lost its appearance. In 1963, the church was closed again "due to the lack of a priest" [4] .
In 1992, the parish was recreated, the restoration of the church began, which continues to this day.
The State Archives of the Kursk Region contains the metric books of the Pyatnitskaya Church for 1867 [5] , 1873, 1877, 1880, 1882, 1884, 1890 and 1895 [6] .
