Esgerabad [1] [2] [3] ( Persian اصغراباد ) is a small town in central Iran , in the province of Isfahan . It is part of the Khomeinishehr shakhrestan . According to the census, in 2006 the population was 5,682 people [3] .

Geography
The city is located in the southern part of Isfahan, in a mountainous area, at an altitude of 1604 meters above sea level [1] . Esgerabad is located approximately 12 kilometers west of Isfahan , the provincial capital, and 330 kilometers south of Tehran , the country's capital. The nearest airport is located in the city of Isfahan [1] .
