Ovsey Ovseevich Dries ( Yiddish שיקע דריז - Shike Dries ; May 16 [29], 1908 [2] , Krasnoe market town , Podolsk province , now Vinnitsa region , Ukraine - February 27, 1971 , Moscow ) is a Jewish Soviet poet who wrote in Yiddish .

Biography
Ovsey (Shike) Driez was born on May 16 ( 29 ), 1908 in the town of Krasnoye, Podolsk province. His father, Shika Dryz, after the wedding went overseas to earn money and died suddenly on the way [3] [4] . He studied at the Kiev Art College . From 1934 to 1947 he served in the border troops.
His poems were highly appreciated by both ordinary readers and famous masters of Russian versification. The poems of the tales of Ovsey Dryz were included in the anthology of fairy tales of the world. First-class masters, B. Slutsky , G. Sapgir , Tatyana Spendiarova , Yu. Morits, translated the poetry of Dries into Russian. The book of translations into Ukrainian was released by Valery Boguslavskaya . A number of Dries poems were put to music by composer Motl Polyansky . Boris Savelyev’s songs to the verses of Ovsey Dryz sounded in the famous “Baby Monitor” , were released on the disk giant “Me and Mom” by Zhanna and Olya Rozhdestvensky. The most famous song on the verses of Ovsey Dryz is The Green Carriage by Alexander Sukhanov .
