Listen with mom

Listen with Mother (Eng. Listen with Mother ) - a children's radio program created by the BBC was broadcast between 1950 and until 1982 . The program was created by Frida Lingstron. For several years, she was led by Daphne Oxerford, Julia Lang, Dorothy Smif, and others. The program was attended by many famous children's writers, including Dorothy Edwards .

The program, lasting fifteen minutes, was released on weekdays at 13.45, before the program “Woman’s Hour”. It consisted of stories, songs, poems for children under five years old (and their mothers). At the peak of popularity, over a million people attended the program. Subsequently, the program was transferred to the BBC Home Service (later renamed BBC Radio 4 ).

The musical composition that sounded in the program, and later became its symbol, was written by Gabriel Foret for the piano duet.

Are you comfortable?

Typically, the program began with the words “Are you comfortable?” Then I will begin. ” Initially, this question should not have been, but Julia Lang decided to improvise, introducing him into the program. After which he became so famous that he ended up in the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations.
