Chuang Yi Publishing Pte Ltd. ( Pinyin : Chuàngyì , which means “art”) is a Singapore -based publishing company that specializes in publishing local and foreign comics and related products in English and Chinese. Chuang Yi distributes all or some of its products in Singapore, Malaysia, India and the Philippines. Distribution in Australia and New Zealand is due to collaboration with Madman Entertainment [1] .

History
Chuang Yi Publishing was founded in 1990 as a distributor of Japanese comics published in Simplified Chinese. Success came to the company after the publication of the Dragon Pearl and Slam Dunk comic series, and later it began to import products from Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.
In 1995, Chuang Yi opened its first branch in Kuala Lumpur and launched the publishing house of two Japanese comic series in Malay . In 1998 and 1999, Chuang Yi published their first adaptation of Legend of the Eight Immortals and Liang Po Po . The company entered the English-language market in 2000 with the launch of a series of Pokemon and two Taiwanese comics in local newspapers. In 2003, Chuang Yi secured licensing rights to distribute its comics in Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines, and in 2004 expanded its activities in the magazine market, including the licensing of several Disney products. Chuang Yi began selling label collections from the Italian company Panini Comics and American Topps in 2005–2006 , and in 2006 began distributing comics in India [2] .] In 2007, the company secured the rights to manufacture office supplies under the brand name Pokémon and Disney and began exclusive distribution of DC Comics and Marvel Comics products in Singapore and Malaysia [3] .
