Nanna (goddess)

Nanna ( al. Scand. Nanna - " mother ") - daughter of Nepra , wife of Baldr , mother of Forseti . The goddess of fertility, resulting from the interaction with the sun and its warmth. It may be a more specific incarnation of Freya, but most neo-pagans believe that Nanna is a separate deity of a lower rank than Freya, with few similar functions, that is, if Freya-Vanadis is in some sense a part of nature, then Nanna is it is fertility itself. There is also a suspicion that the name of this Goddess denotes the Moon, since Nepre, her father, most likely is some of the cosmic phenomena. Goddess of the Aces clan in Norse mythology . She lived with her husband Baldrom at the Breidablik Palace in Asgard . After Loki tricked Blind Hyod to kill Baldr, she "broke her heart and was laid on a funeral pyre to her husband."
