Aliso is a stratovolcano with a height of 4267 meters. Located east of the volcano Antisana . Aliso is one of the volcanoes of Ecuador, which was recently discovered by geologists at the eastern end of the Cordillera Real ridge. The volcano itself and the surrounding area are composed of andesites , rhyolites , dacites .
Near the volcano are young andesitic volcanic domes that rise above the city of Baeza . The volcano began to erupt in the Pleistocene era, and ended its activity in the modern period . Analysis of pumice and lapilli showed that the last time a volcano erupted in the period from 4,000 to 2,000 years ago.
The volcano is located in difficult terrain and it is surrounded by the jungle.
