ISO 3166-2: CV is an International Organization for Standardization standard that defines geocodes. It is a subset of Cape Verde’s ISO 3166-2 standard. The standard covers 2 geographical regions (archipelagoes) and 22 Cape Verde municipality. Each geocode consists of two parts: the Alpha2 code according to ISO 3166-1 for Cape Verde - CV and the additional code written with a hyphen. Additional: the single-letter code of geographical regions is formed by the abbreviation of the name of a region, the two-letter code of municipalities is formed in harmony with: the name, abbreviation of the name of the municipality. Geocodes of geographical regions and municipalities of Cape Verde are a subset of top-level domain codes - CV assigned to Cape Verde in accordance with ISO 3166-1 .
